07/12/2004 - 10:16 p.m. So, as me and my brother (or shall I say my brother and I) were driving to Hollywood Video to rent a video game, these two guys slowly stepped into the street in front of us. Then, they proceeded to completely ignore all the laws that forbid that and all the cars which may have ran them over, and slowly strolled across the street. The street being one of the main streets around here. And that incident made me realize just how much we need pedestrian licenses. You see, I firmly believe that stupid pedestrians endanger just as many lives as stupid drivers. Therefore, there should be a test that all people must pass in order to become licensed pedestrians. Until they pass this test, they should only be allowed to walk in the company of a licensed pedestrian. The test would include things such as proper crossing, not endangering others, not being a jerk, intelligence level, and common sense. Without the pedestrian license, the person would not be able to get a bike (or any other non-motor mode of transportation vehicle) license, or a car (or any other motor vehicle) license. Of course, the pedestrian license could be taken away just as well as the drivers one can be taken away nowdays. And there would be classes in proper pedestrianism. I know that, had this all existed last year, I would have never been hit by a car, many people would have never gotten needlessly killed, and many drivers would not have been pissed off at the slow moving humans taking their sweet time in crossing a street.
