The Cat
Almost my birthday, so go out and look for a reindeer to buy.

So. It has now been a week and a half since my new room mate moved into my room. Now, I understand that I am paying for a double room and that this includes having a room mate. I also understand that, if she had not moved in, there is still a chance that they would have assigned a room mate to me at some point throughout the semester. However, I do not understand why someone would, after talking to me, and fully aware that I AM NOT OKAY with her moving in when I AM NOT THERE, go down to the front desk and lie about me telling her that she should move in so can they open the door for her, please? Of course, they did, and so when I got back to my room sometime that night, tired to the point of exhaustion, she was moving in. In the middle of her moving in, after I told her that she'd better be done within the next hour, she went out into the kitchen for some social gathering and did not return until well after midnight. The whole situation pisses me off, and now there is a nice, long set of rules that she has to follow, and the first one she breaks I'm going back to the res-life office to complain. Enough complaints and they're kicking her out.

It makes me so happy that my apartment lease is signed, thus making my single private own room insured for the next few years.

Anyways. I got to pet a reindeer today. It was a girl, and she was so pretty that me and Michelle decided we are kicking Bailey out of our apartment and making her room into a reindeer stable. We'll name it Bailey in her honor. It was a lot tinier, though, and a lot softer than I expected it to be. With cute little hoofs. Five years old. A great idea for a birthday present, and mine is coming up soon...

So. Jonathan is going to Afghanistan. Actually, I shouldn't say that. He might be going. I refuse to believe that he will be going, that it is so definite, until the day he leaves. Still, unless something changes, there go my summer plans. Instead of two months, I'll have to settle for two weeks with him. Not even two consecutive weeks, either. For anyone not clear on this, but wanting to know, Jonathan is my boyfriend. I really don't care to talk here about how it happened, or how it was, but how it is is that I am here and he in Hawaii, though he wasn't until last fall. And no, I don't like it, and no, it's not easy, and no, there really is nothing more that I would like than that he were here, or I there, or, as a matter of fact, that we were anywhere at all with both of us there at the same time. But that's not how things are, and we both knew that's not how things would be for the next three years in the least, and we are both willing to live like this until he's done with the army and I am done with college and we can be together.

Surprisingly, a big source of support in this are my parents, who seem to be planning on us staying together for years to come. Actually, I don't know how I would have handled it if they didn't like him, so I'm really glad that they do. Even my grandmother approves, and considers him a nice, polite, good looking boy.

So. That's how it is. And now my head hurts, and I really should be getting back to my room, since my parents might be calling me soon and my boyfriend later, so it would help if I were there.

Oh, and here are a few links I found interesting.
Idiot Milk; Mullets This, of course, is about mullets.
and Alternative Bible Stories Well, the name really says it all. I do fear some of my readers won't find the site as informative and worthwhile as I did, though...
