01/20/2004 - 11:35 a.m. So, yesterday we had a room consolidation meeting, and as it turns out I am one of the three people on my floor needing a room mate. Now, if things play out right, I will be able to keep a half-vacancy, with a remote possibility of someone moving into my room at any point of the semester. If they don't, after today I am stuck with Mal. Now, not to get me wrong or anything such, but she is, well, in mild terms, learning disabled. Now, me, having been spoiled all my life by interactions with intelligent people, I don't know how I would be able to live in such a situation. There is hope, though, that if the other girl on the floor moves or gets a new room mate, we will each be able to keep our half vacant rooms. The problem with this is that she actually wants to move in with me, and my old room mate is encouraging this behavior from her. Another thing to hope for is to convince Mal to move in with the other girl. However, for some odd reason, she seems to have her heart set on me. Which I find quite a bit disturbing. Ah well, we'll see. In any case, I get to stay in the room I am now in, so at least there are no worries of me having to move. Anyways, other than that things do seem to be going as well as possible. There is a vast improvement in my drawing professor since the last semester (this one actually knows what he is doing). The rest are also okay, and the classes seem (at least at this point) like they will be enjoyable. My walking class, by the way, seems to have finally settled in the McComb Fieldhouse, where we will have a gym as well as a classroom available. There is a girl in that class who looks like Andreea before she retired from gymnastics, something I found amusing. There is also a woman in there who constantly complains about having to take this class because she wishes to lose no more than three pounds. And, amazingly enough, there is also a guy who wants to gain weight. Anyways. I'm running out of things to randomly ramble about at this point, so I think I will head back to my room, where I will eat my lunch and prepare for Drawing II, my only class of the day other than Wellness and Walking. By prepare, I of course mean that I will sit or lay down and read a book until it is time for me to go. I may take a nap, too, but I don't know how wise that would be considering that the class starts in three hours, so I have to head out in two and a half. But we shall see. Room mate - 10/27/2005
