11/03/2003 - 2:52 p.m. No, there is no essay to write this week. (I know you were all wondering) Anyways, that out of the way, I can go on with the entry. Friday: Halloween. Ah, what a lovely day. How unfortunate that I did not have a costume. But ah well. Still, I can't say that it was entirely unproductive, as Michelle and I did finally get our courage up and went to the Inn to find out about their offer. As it turns out, it is a very cool offer indeed. The room (a double) costs less than one in the dorm would, it is larger, and has a large screen TV with 60 channels free. As for what is included in the room (other than the beds and the TV), there is an optional small fridge, a phone, and of course desks and chairs. However, since they are renting the rooms out for a semester at a time (payable either at once or in rates), their policy is that their rooms are to be used as apartments rather than hotel rooms. So, you can bring in pretty much anything extra you want. There is DSL internet connection that can be used as well. And of course, let us not forget that room service is still provided. There are also extras, such as the free breakfast, the sauna, the pool, and the gym that can be used by the students who live there. And it's only a mile or so away from the campus, which means about 20 minutes walking. And since I don't really plan to schedule any of my classes before 11:00AM or after 5:00PM, there should be no problem with that. I was actually thinking that it might be mean to do to my room mate, who is under the impression that we will spend the rest of our lives together (seriously, she was telling me how she wants to help me with mortgage once I buy a house so that she can "own" a room in it and live there when she comes by) and then, last night, when I wanted to open the window because it's been really warm these last few days and I don't see why it should be closed, especially since the heat is turned on every night and I don't particularly enjoy sleeping in a room that is above 80 degrees, she made a comment about how she can't sleep with the window open, but that's okay, she doesn't need sleep. Did I ever mention that she has a serious victim/hero complex? Anyways, I shut the window, but since she thought it was open (I didn't tell her otherwise), there was another night of her having trouble sleeping. So, I decided to tell her, and that is as soon as my parents okay it, that I am living in the hotel next year. Even if I don't, though, I am not living with her. I just want to see how this will work out, so that I know what to tell her in regards as to where I will be living. Anyways. That was Friday. Also on Friday, Michelle registered to vote (on her fourth try, no less) and then she got a tattoo. Saturday was spent by me painting my paint-by-number project for 2-D design, and Sunday was a day to not do much. Well, I should have been doing laundry, but there was someone who ever so brightly started doing their laundry on Friday and then left for the weekend, leaving the laundry in the washer. So, that will be a job for tomorrow after class. And today was back to going to school, just like any other week (well, except that this is the "Mediterranean Week" at the cafeteria) and scheduling for classes. So, now I have my next semester schedule all done (yay for getting priority scheduling because of being in Honors Program) And that's about that. Room mate - 10/27/2005
