10/12/2003 - 8:01 p.m. So, here I am at the UC, typing up this rather than my English paper (due tomorrow, of course; I just hope they don't kick me out of here before I am done with it), and really, there isn't much I wish to say. Okay, that's a lie, there is. I just don't know if I want to say it here, and more over I don't know how much of it will make sense to anyone but myself. ** ** Well, Alan has recently left (he was my moral support for this paper) and the paper has just been printed. After changing my topic several times, I have ended up with a gem on Racism and Marriage. And yes, by "gem" I do mean a waste of three pages of paper. Anyways, back to what I was saying... I shall now topicize my entry. Topic #1: Classes. Environmental Issues: This is my so called Honors Class. However, the way it is done, it is in fact a 17 person survey. A survey, for those unaware, is an overview lecture class with many many students. Now, I am not saying that this is not a good class, it is just not done at an advanced level. However, it being that it has nothing to do with the field that I will go into, it really doesn't bother me at all. English Composition: Adv College Writing: I don't know if that's the correct order, but those are all the words that are in the name of that course. It's a good class, the teacher is awsome, he loved my first essay and was shocked and surprised that I managed to improve my English so much during my eight years here. Other than write, we also read essays in here. Then we discuss them. It's pretty relaxed, which I like. However, I am not completely sure if I should be in this class, since I did get a five on my AP test and, if I remember correctly, that should have taken care of my Freshman English Credits. But ah well, I'm enjoying it. Overview Art History: This, by the way, is Western Art. I got 100% on my first test in there. I was the only one to get it, too. Yay me. The thing I like most about this class is how enthusiastic our (pregnant?) teacher is about teaching it. We don't know for sure if she is pregnant or not, but she does look like it. Another thing that I like is that she actually gives us study-guides that are based on the tests, and tests that are based on notes, and not some random stuff that we don't at all need to know, as some of the teachers in my past have done. Drawing 1: Kitty is an awful teacher. She makes us paint in a drawing class. However, I can't say I dislike her as much as some of my fellow students, just because I do understand some of the things that she is trying to tell us. What I don't like the most is that she refuses to put any effort into teaching us, and then expects us to put crazy amounts of effort into doing the work that she assigns (and does not explain properly, by the way.) I think, however, that if the students were more cooperative she would be a much better instructor and would take more of our suggestions. She seems to like me well enough, though, which may account for the current B that I am getting in her class overall. Most of the students (even those much better than I) are at a lower grade level than that. 2-D Design: Everything I do for that class is good, nothing is good enough for an A. I have Bs on all my projects, which, coincidentally, is the case with most of the students. She's an awsome instructor, though, and in our crits she makes sure to point out what was done well as well as what could have been improved and how. She is also very motherly, which is nice. And that is all my classes. Topic #2: Kacy Kacy is in all my classes. She is my newest (though quite possibly not last) twin. Kacy is awsome. Topic #3: Strike There may be a strike in all of PA. Negotiations end next Thursday and then we get to see what happens. What is being argued is the potential increase of class sizes. The teachers don't want that, and so if it comes down to it they will strike. If it goes on for longer than two years, I lose a semester of college, no money back, which is a bad thing. However, if it lasts less than two weeks, it will be a welcomed break. Personally, I hope that it does happen, because me and Bailey have a trip to the Art Museum planned out if it does. She's from Strongsville, so her family would give us a ride one way while mine would provide the transportation in the other direction. Topic #4: Room Mate Most of the time she is cool, and I am happy with the way things are. There are, however, times when she goes into different modes and then I question my decision. I will probably start ranting about her quite a bit from now on. This does not mean that I do not like her, or wish her ill, just that I need a way to deal with living with her. So, since it seems to me that many of my later entries will be dedicated to her, I will go on to my next topic. Topic #5: Xeno Gears It is the only game I really really own, and it is now in the possession of one of my brother's friends. Correction, it has been in the possession of one of my brother's friends for the past two years. Luckily, Ryan has been nice enough to lend me a Playstation and the game. However, let me make it clear that I want my game back. Topic #6: 2 Fast 2 Furious This was playing for free the other night, so I went to see it with some friends. I officially deem it the worst movie I have ever seen. Had I paid for this movie, I do believe I would now be denouncing myself as a human being. Topic #7: Jonathan I love you. Room mate - 10/27/2005
